Think a lady has already asked this question, but she didnt get a reply, what is a Sizzler??!?!?!? :D

Re: Sizzlers

Is it not like a stir fry of meat/chicken with veg served on a very hot cast iron dish so as when it is brought to you it is sizzling. Some places cook them at the side of your table.
At least I think that is what they are.

Yes thats what it is-it can be chinese dishes or i can be like fajitas too. They are on a cast iron hot plate which in some places (majestic as an example) they take them straight out to the front of the restaurant to cool for a second because they are so hot-plus it gets people smelling them and coming in and ordering them too! Usually a meat in a mixture of onions, peppers mushrooms etc.

glad you enjoyed it Katie
have to say that though i love their food, I only have their brekkies cos they are free if you book a boat trip - you just go in for brekkie and then they take you down to the jetty

we've been going in for years, but on the recommendation of Mrs B's sister we tried the seafood platter for the first time a couple of weeks ago
it was to DIE for, plenty of it and very lovely too
I shared it with a friend as it's a dish for 2 and OH shared a leg of lamb with her partner - sooooo lovely as well
so much so that Mrs B kinly arranged for me to have a leg of lamb for one on our last night

can't recommend either dish enough!!

What was on the seafood platter? that sounds lovely, i usually have a sizzler when go there but am always up for tring something new!! :D

seafood platter was started with Prawn cocktail and smoked salmon with salad, main course was langoustines [big prawns], a whole fish [looked like a mullet but was dark skinned], poached salmon, calamari, white fish [like cod/haddock and really meaty, the one they serve on their Sunday boat trip] and a prawn and mussel casserole - complete with the usual [home made] chips, rice, veg and salad

when we ordered it the day before, we'd told them that we didn't want the starters - partly to keep cost down and partly because we didn't think we'd have room for them
next day when we were passing, the owner came out and said that they'd like to give us the starters on the house - how lovely's that?!?!?!?

anyway, back to topic - their sizzlers really are beautiful, I always go for the shrimp ones and haven't been disappointed yet
think also that their prices have been the same for the past 4/5 years, so yet another reason to go there

Used to always have a sizzler at No Limits, but alas it is no more and I haven't had once since. After all the recommendations on here I have a notion for one, going in 3 weeks so not long to wait

My OH had the lamb sizzler 3 times last week in Florida restaurant, he said it was the best he had ever tasted and always has them there. :D Does anyone else think the frontman(don't know his name) looks like Paul Daniels?!! (Also fantastic cocktails, 10 lira, buy one get one free anytime.) :D

Please can we not discuss Sizzlers or even food in general until at least we have settled down from the Christmas and New Year blowouts.
