Airport customs

Postby rjohnston » 25 Aug 2009 14:38

There has been a lot of news in the papers about Airport Customs being very strict on fake goods and counterfeit,
searching and confiscating and fineing . Has anybody had Trouble at Manchester or Dalaman?

Just returned at the weekend and had no trouble at either Dalaman or Newcastle this end. Had the usual t-shirts,jeans and jewellery but did not get stopped.

If the odd item is seen to be in personel use it is not worth the bother but if you turn up with 100 x £10 Rolex Watches that could be a different matter.

It is usually like that at Newcastle hardly ever see anyone but you always have that feeling that there are eyes watching you as you go through.

Anyway, how would they know it's a fake

Sue who I work with could spot a fake at 100 paces, but I bet the rest of us couldn't

Oh, except for football shirts (Bargain for a genuine fake in Turkey), I can spot the fake ones of these, and it isn't hard if you know what to look for

*Goes off to admire his genuine fake new season Barcelona shirt bought from Three Sisters shop in July 8)
