baggage handlers strike

got bit worried due to fly out 31 august from manchester and heard on local news couple of nights ago baggage handlers and check in staff where thinking of strike action over the bank holiday weekend :cry: then checking internet tonight managed to find news that the strikes had been called off. :D :D

Thank god, we fly from Manchester on the 31st and I saw it on the news Monday, thought they weren't voting about it until Monday 17th though :? I cant find anything about it on t'internet

I'm pretty sure they were supposed to be going on strike at the same time last year and it got called off.

We also fly from manchester that day, I'm so relieved it's been called off. I had visions of camping in the airport. :roll:

Look for the big chap in the check in queue easy to spot over 6 foot and extremely good looking lol.pulling a lime green suitcase (even easier to spot).Will probably feel like they are on strike anyway most people i transport to airport (minibus driver) who are going to dalaman are reporting delays both ways ,the last one 3 1/2 hours.

Got to go and collect tickets from co.op but i'm pretty sure we are 6.30 am Onur air terminal 2 i think.

Still can't find anything on t'internet about the strike I'll have to wait until tomorrow news I suppose lol

Still unknown if the srike is going ahead or not but I've found this on BBC News (hope posting this link is OK)

They are striking over the bank holiday weekend, I hope it doesn't disrupt us too much!!

Last nights Manchester newspaper reported a strike of Union members employed by Swissport who refuel the aircraft will be staged from 5am 31August to 12.45pm 1September.
