Taxi transfers

Postby weetoony » 05 Aug 2009 21:26

We are doing a taxi transfer from Dalaman to Icmeler this year for the first time. Suggestions on how much to lighten my sporran by for the driver would be greatly appreciated :)

think we paid about £70 for ours.

They will haggle, but i remember trying to get them down to about £50 (the amount you would pay for a transfer normally) and they wouldnt go that low.

You are better contacting ICR for transfers, they will be waiting for you and take you straight to you hotel, and take you back to Dalaman for a one off payment

I think that I may have used the wrong word by saying "taxi" transfers. A taxi to me is a vehicle where I pay the driver to get me from A to B, so I should have said private transfer.

The point of the question was not what I should pay for the transfer but what is the going rate to tip the driver?

I'd pay a couple of quid same as I would at home. Depends on how helpful they are, maybe upto £5, definitely no more than that especially these days with finances.

And if you pick one up at the airport depends what they are charging you so maybe nothing especially if they wouldnt come up with a decent price.

Dont think there's a right or wrong price really.

Its all subjective isnt it.

I read somewhere Taxi and bus drivers do not expect tips in Turkey unlike most other places .
