‎1 year GBP 370,00
2 year GBP 730,00
3 year GBP 1090,00
4 year GBP 1450,00
5 year GBP 1810,00

These are the new prices for the residency visa introduced at the begining of the year.
This is to the holiday makers advantage as now you can travel anytime now within a 180 day period as long as the stay doesnt exceed 90 days either all at once or over several holidays.
All for £10.
Its just the people going over for the season or owning property over there who will be affected the most.

You are right Sue, you will only need to pay once, there is a full thread on this at

There has been a lot of discussion but it now appears to becoming clearer hopefully.

You need to have a new sticker on your passport now stateing you have 180 days.
I would think you have still got the old 90 day visa.

if you have been already this year and have the 'old' visa sticker and are returning later in the season you will have to pay the £10 again.

Sue, if you are going in may and september next year you will only have to pay on entry in your May visit.

Chris, check your visa sticker on your passport. if it is the new 180 days one, you won't have to pay another £10 when you go in September.

Please remember that the British Consulate are still waiting for written for confirmation so keep checking their website, I don't trust anything to be 100% when dealing with governments unless it is writing from them.

So to summaries am I right to think that the new Tourist Visa is going to be

1) Valid for 180 days and not 90 days as at present.

2) Valid for multiple entries up to a total of 90 Days

3) Cost £10:00

For example a Visa issued on 01/05/11 will expire 27/10/11 (a period of 180 days) and a visitor will be able to come and go so long as they do not exceed 90 days in total..
If 90 days are exceeded a fine will be imposed.
Therefore I will only require to purchase one Visa to satisfy both my May and September holidays in 2011.
