Hi. Are suitcases checked on departure from Dalaman? I was hoping to bring about 600 cigarettes home :?:

when i went to turkey in june 2009 i was told by the thomas cook rep that you were only allowed 200 cigarettes out of turkey per person. when you get to dalaman airport they will scan your cases, bags, handbags. and when you go to check in at the airport if you are even 1 kilo over your weight allowance they will charge you!!

We've just returned and bought 800 at Dalaman airport got back to birmingham and carried them through in the duty free bags, we also found them cheaper at the airport than in the supermarkets in Icmeler.

We returned on Fri fetch 800 thats 400 going into turkey then 400 back what was surprising was on the Onur plane they sold 1,000 pack to a customer he paid by card £92 that (staff on plane)should not happen they know its only 200
just as long as they a sale ,came through customs no problems.

that's a shame, mind you I'd lose my job as well as the cigs so I'll be sticking to the 200 limit - may be a better idea to give up though, eh?!

I don't think I could dare bring back more than we should! Every time without fail, when we come through arrivals in Glasgow airport, we get stopped!! We must look dodgy! Thankfully have never had anything we shouldnt but you still panic none the less!
