Can you fly with a plaster cast?

hi could anyone tell me if the airlines (onur air) allow you to fly with a plaster cast, my daughter is flying out in a few weeks and has a cast on her leg

Best to check with the actual airline first. I think most will allow it, but bear in mind that if the plaster means she can't bend her leg, you will need to book a seat with extra legroom in advance.

Not trying to worry you or anything but my friends were going to Turkey last year and were mis informed that they're son would be ok to fly with leg in plaster but once they arrived at check in they were told they had to pay for 2 extra seats as he couldnt bend his leg and therefore had to fly with leg across seats. Check and double check is my advice xx

As long as the cast is not a new one you should not have a problem - this is becuase the air pressure can make the limb swell and the cast becomes to tight. My son few in April and had had his cast on for 3 weeks prior to his flight. Just get his consultnat to do a letter to say he is fit to fly (do not ask you GP for this as they usually charge - a hospital consutant does not, just ring and ask his secretary) and you shouldn't have a problem. My son was not even asked for his letter but at least he had it if he was asked. Hope this helps. Di.

hi my son travelled to turkey a few years ago with a broken arm he had to have the plaster cut before we went to avoid swelling.we also took a letter from the doctor to say he could fly.
