Two loaves of bread please

The year before last when we were stopping in Icmeler we decided to eat in with a cooked chicked from somewhere near the Deja Vu, and some salad and a bottle of wine from Tansas, and some nice fresh bread warm from the bakery at the back of Tansas. Well first stop Tansas, for salad and a bottle of vino, then to the bakery for the bread, the smell of which was wafting in the breeze as we left the supermarket. So i took my tur in the que to get my bread. "Two loaves please" "Two loaves please" all i got was a shrug of the shoulders from the bake. A short time passed when a gentleman came to the shop for his daily bread, and heard me ask the baker "two loaves please" another shrug hte gentleman told the baker what i wanted. From there it was up for a bear while we waited for the chicked to be sorted. The meal we had back at the appartment was one of the best we had.

To try and save the shrugs and headache trying to get the baker to understand can some one tell me how to say "two loaves of bread please"

Iki tane ekmek lutfen is the phrase you need.

Lutfen is optional although polite.

Lutfen is "please" It should not really be optional. We British say it all the time and that is how it should be!

In a bar out in the sticks of Portugal once, trying to be clever, I ordered "dos vino tinto" and got two gin and tonics. Getting the taste and giving up on the lingo I later ordered "two gin and tonics" and then got two red wines!!!

its nice to see the correct spelling,which i would not have known, but when you ask for your bread it sounds like, icky tanner eckmeck loot fen,good luck & enjoy.
