Left Manchester on time and after smooth flight arrived 20 minutes early, paid my £10, through passport control, collected luggage and found our ICR transfer waiting – it was great journey and we were the only passengers which was even better!!
Arrived at Mete Apartments which are lovely and spacious my only tiny complaint is that the hot and cold water in the shower didn’t want to mix so never got a warm shower, it was either boiling hot or freezing cold!! Other than the shower the apartments were great and Sabri at the bar is a really great guy and would do anything for anyone.
First port of all call on the first night was Venice and it didn’t disappoint we had a great meal and fab entertainment. I don’t think we had a bad meal anywhere and we went to Florida, Moonlight, Asiyma, Taj Mahal, Charlies and Harmony Bar to name a few lol. Watched the Stella show, brilliant as usual and I even bought the DVD they were selling for 20tl. I was really surprised that I only saw one Tina Turner show the whole two weeks we were there, didn’t see one MJ routine or anything it was great, i’m sure they were on somewhere but not where we went!
We booked a turkish bath with ICR and it was fab, they even took some photos which my friend bought so i’ll put them on here later. We booked a boat trip which was good but the boat was overcrowded and again my friend bought the photos they took, so I’m sticking with ICR in future.
We only went to the beach once to see Hakan and Levent at Linikers, had a lovely lunch and relaxing day on the beach – on the free sunbeds lol. The rest of the days were spent around the pool trying to get a tan but failed – I never seem to tan grrr!! Used the avon SSS dry oil spray and didn’t get bit once so it comes highly recommended from me.
Called in at Canary Bar (Korsan) it looks great now but I feel its lost its charm and atmosphere, maybe because there wasn’t may singers on the karaoke so I’ll reserve my judgement for now ha ha. Walked past the Dreamboys but didn’t get hassled too much, said no thanks and carried on walking! Found Mehmet at The Melissa, he’s still the same winding everyone up and has some big plans for next year and I hope it works out for him! The steak provencale at The Melissa was gorgeous and the best meal I had all holiday!
Ohh forgot about the rain!! I’ve never seen rain like it it was great stuck in a bar watching the rain fall and ordering another beer! Ha ha it laster over two days on Friday and Satuday of last week so we at least got one day of sunshine before we had to go home!
Soon it was time to come home and the ICR transfer came to pick us up 50 minutes early so in the rush managed to leave some things behind grr
. I’m hoping they are still there and my mum can pick them up from Sabri (fingers crossed). Arrived at Dalaman to find an hour and five minutes delay on our flight home, found out on the flight it was due to a spring in an engine valve failing at Manchester. We were soon on our way though and had another smooth flight but a bit of a bumby landing which was a bit of a scare at the time! Just the countdown to next years holiday (284 days) we are going for three weeks for my big 30 so I’ll arrange a birthday meet up at Vinces nearer the time so anyone there in July I hope you can help me celebrate!!
