Posted: 25 Jun 2009 16:18Got back from Icmeler yesterday so thought I'd post my review.
Tried a two-centre holiday this year and really enjoyed it. First week we went to Hisaronu, lovely hotel in a beautiful setting but preferred to catch a dolmus or taxi into Oludeniz at night.
Transfer was last Wednesday, two and a half hours with a very careful driver, so thanks for the help with that John!
Most of our time in Icmeler was spent relaxing by the pool and we went on a lazy day boat trip which we always enjoy.
Had lovely meals at Wayside, Love Boat and Taj Mahal. Evenings usually spent in Linekars but went up to Cafe del Mar one night to take some shots of the bay. Lovely place to sit and have a drink either by day or night and the new decking there is fab.
Stayed again at Rhodes apartments and as usual Tango and his mum couldn't do enough for us. Sorry to see that Inta isn't there anymore but the new chef is just as good.
Now the down side
I know ICR appreciates feedback from it's customers so here goes. Maybe you could check the schedule for Tuesday and see who the driver was who picked us up at 10pm. He is the worst driver we've had in all the times we've been coming to Icmeler, 15 or 16 in total. By the time we reached Marmaris we'd had two near misses, one involving a coach which he'd tried to overtake just as the road merged from two lanes to one. Once we'd levelled out after the climb out of Marmaris my hubby went to the front to tell him to slow down. I know people will say that's the way the Turks drive but us Brits aren't used to it and we're the ones paying the money. Hopefully ICR will have a serious word with him.
We will be back in September when hopefully we'll be picked up by a driver as careful as the guy who did the transfer from Hisaronu, boy did he get a generous tip
