June 7 to 14 review

Flew out from Edinburgh to Dalaman with FlyGlobespan - flights good and on time. Met at Dalaman by our ICR transfer - as usual, very quick and efficient. Arrived at the Iguana Apartments to be greeted by the lads from the Scotia Bar, who were lovely - so friendly and helpful, contacting Sharon and Donna from ICR to sort out our keys.
Apartments are great - superb location, spacious and well-equipped (not that I intended to do any cooking - it's MY holiday too!) The Scotia became our "regular" and we made use of the pool there too.
Nice to see Donna in reception most days and have a chat!
As we had arrived quite late, we headed across the road to Harry's Steakhouse where we had the first of several great meals in Icmeler - in fact, it became our regular haunt for breakfast too.
Eating out - apart from Harry's, we ate at Vince's, Florida, Pop Inn, Three Bells, Holiday, Lighthouse, Bamboo and the Lemon Tree. Great food in all. I've always been a bit wary of eating steak abroad, as I'm really fussy about how I like it cooked, but after reading reviews on here, decided to try the pepper steak in Vince's. What can I say - it was fantastic and cooked just how I wanted it. I then went on to have a delicious fillet steak with mushroom sauce at Harry's, which was also divine.
We didn't have a bad meal anywhere, in fact we never have in Icmeler. Hadn't tried the Lighthouse before, but our meal was very good indeed - I had the moussaka, which was excellent. The Holiday Restaurant was again very good - the lads there are lovely and the pancakes are fantastic.
Icmeler itself did seem a wee bit quieter than last June, and we noticed quite a few places closed by the police. Hassle was virtually non-existent, perhaps because of this new policy.
However, we experienced the same warm welcome which makes Icmeler the gem it is and why we keep coming back time and time again. It's so nice to be greeted like long-lost friends, and we have made some good friends at our regular haunts.
Enjoyed a nice, relaxing break (a week just wasn't long enough though :( ) lounging on the beach as well as taking our usual boat trip.
Following Donna's recommendation, popped across to the Bonjour to ask for a look around, and it looks great. Thinking about booking there for our next visit - probably in September or October when our daughter returns from her three months in America working at a special needs camp. She loves Icmeler too and can't wait for her next fix - neither can the rest of us!
If only those lottery numbers would come up and I could spend as much time as I wanted in there.
I honestly never thought I'd ever want to go back to one particular place time and time again for holidays - that was until we discovered Icmeler!
Hasn't lost any of its charm - and long may that continue!
