Got back 8.30am this morning, so here is my review hot off the press!

Start off with Captain Silver stayed for the first time this year after 4 years at Babadan Appts and 1 year at Club Petunya, 13 in party and had 4 rooms booked. (booked hotel 12 months in advance and requested ground floor rooms if possible - as two sister in laws were both expecting in Dec/Jan, and a father in law aged 66 who needs a walking stick to get by with) booked two cots and double confirmed two weeks before departure with ICR. So arrived to find all 4 rooms on the 3rd Floor ! and no cots!

Young lad said he could change after 1 week, but did move 1 room to ground floor and 1 to basement and two to 2nd floor, we accepted this as we understand that the owners in Icmeler tend to re-let appts to regular customers the ground floor if requested (we had similar facilities at Babadan appts and even named room numbers) However was disappointed that they had an arrangement with all inclusive Mirage hotel to keep 3 groundfloor appts available for double bookings! so 3 remained empty!

Captain Silver rooms themselves clean and tidy and quite spacious, bedding changed weekly with rooms cleaned daily (plenty of fresh towels given). The grounds really nice with garden area (we saw many wild tortoises and a grass snake!) The pool area was also nice although 19 sunbeds for number of appts was far too small and sunbed wars arose and yes our party was guilty as we grappled to grab 6 sunbeds for our party daily and found reception staff putting out towels for regulars at 4.30am!

Pool was gorgeous and always warm, staff who run the bar franchaise (Elvis and co) excellent! No prices were on menus first week although now rectified, I would suggest you don't run up a tab but pay cash as there were a few complaints abut bar bills although we had no complaints from our loton that score.

Restaurant not open until last night when they held a barbeque (excellent value and fun).

I would rate Capt Silver 7.5 out of 10 and although there are a number of negatives above would use again.

Now for Icmeler review, as a visitor for 6 years have seen many changes over the year! this year harbour with mini lighthouse and shops although non occupied. New promenade excellent and moonlight stroll highly recomended.

Only hassle this year seems to be from jewellers and hairdressers! Oh and of course the undergroung bazaar! Only restaurant shut was the Peking Cuisine (3 days) next to underground Bazaar! Taj Mahal is open and whilst meal was excellent price not cheap!
Most restaurants have generally increased prices but never had a bad meal. Breakfasts generally 5 lira money seems to be maid on fizzy drinks again around the £2 mark. Dolmus is now 2tlira, if getting taxis get price first as vary widely. Best meals were in Dreamboys, Dreamfriends (slightly smaller menu but food good) Richards place, Two Amigo's proper chips not fries and Florida bar.

Went on two boat trips as we always do, booked one (mud baths)through "Tommy Halfinger" - at No name agency next to Champagne Bar! trip cost us 200 lira for 9 adults and 2 kids was good value although trip went from Marmaris on Neptune Star boat not Icmeler ! and promised sunbeds, this in fact was rubbish as we were some 40 people overbooked, after this Tommy ignored me when Iwalked past- ignore this guy! Booked 5 days trip with "cheeky bugger" on promenade and had a great day!

Bought some excellent original fake - Henly t-shirts around 20 lira, great quality and actually fit me confortably (XXL) market on Wednesday was really hot and no better value than local shops!

Best hairdresser out of 3 we tried was "Black and White Hairdressing" opposite the cash banks.

Met lots of familiar faces and a few from this forum, hi again guys!

Sorry for the long review but could go on forever. Any questions feel free to ask!
