Senem 8th - 22nd September

This was our 7th year in succession in Icmeler and our first in Senem and hopefully not our last. Stayed in an airport hotel in Glasgow on 7th before flying out, made a complaint to the management and were promised an upgraded room on our return. Afternoon flight out on Saturday with Tommy C and his usual comfort took a new route and landed 4 hours later. Baggage took an eternity to come through so in to our transfer an hour later and another hour and 20 minutes we were at Senem. To our relief we were allocated a first floor apartment, dived over to Jimmy Asda's for some essentials and repaired to the bar for some even more essentials until 3.00am. If you thought the first part of this is boring, there is more to come.
Apart from visits to the dogs' home (no one in apart from the woofers) and ICR offices in daylight, all of our time was spent in or around the pool realxing for our nocturnal activities. We also found that Cubana had gone to the dogs but that is another story! Special meals were had, in order of preference, at Hanedan, Sidik's, Lighthouse, Wayside and Senem and we were sorely disappointed at Venice and more so Cubana.
The weather was the most most perfect that we have ever had and we were disappointed not to have had one of our annual treats, a thunderstorm. A very successful visit to the market resulted in a close call with the baggage at Dalaman.
Senem, great location, lovely surrounds, too deep pool but OK if you can get it to yourself, great staff from management to cleaners and plenty of sun beds at this time of year. Great mix of guests from all over the UK and we met up with several forum regulars. We are currently within 1 day of returning to Senem next year. BTW, hassle, what hassle?
Transfer back to Dalaman bang on time and took one 15 minutes, it would have been 10 but the driver got pulled over by the polis. Flight on time bit took 4 hours and 50 minutes to crawl back to Glasgow where we got our room upgrade and a complimentary bottle of wine.
Back down the long and winding road on Sunday (yes that one) and arrived to a freezer that had tripped 6 days previously - beam us back to Icmeler Scotty :D
