Our 2nd visit to Icmeler in 3 years and we were worried we wouldnt beat 2010 however 2012 was the best holiday we have ever had. Club Sun Village is like a home from home, about 50% of the guests are repeat guests and lots of faces we recognised from 2 years ago. Cant fault the apartments, staff, food etc and highly recommend CSV.
The first week Icmeler was very quiet but by the 2nd week it was very busy especially with lots of Scots as the school holidays had begun. We found the prices much the same as 2 years ago, maybe a couple of Lira more however as the exchange rate is so good (2.8 - 2.81 every day) we spent less this time. We spent £1100 over 14 nights for 2 adults and 1 child without scrimping - eating breakfast, lunch, dinner out, and having ice creams and drinks throughout the day and averaging 3-4 Efes each per night - oh and we spent about £100 at Icmeler market. We did the boat trip from CSV and Turkish night both of which are great value for money. We took my 3 year old to meet the dolphins booked through ICR which was much better than we anticpated and worth every penny.
The canal area was very quiet and has lost the buzz that the markets created - the new stalls are not the same, with only a handful of stalls and no atmosphere. The best places we ate at were Friends (cant beat the service and attention with good quality food), Majestic (great food especially the Chinese and Fajitas) but our favourite must be Sidiks - family homecooked food with the best Steaks and Turkish dishes in Icmeler. The only bad meal we had was at Tommys (see seperate post on the Icmeler forum) and we were a bit disappointed with Loveboat but that was mainly due to portion size. The temperatures were sky high and a bit too hot the first week going in to the 50s most days so we spent most of our time in the pool! Booking again for June 2013.
