FIRST HOLIDAY IN ICMELER REVIEW

Hi to all,just got back from our first visit to Icmeler and from arrival to departure a very enjoyable experience,we stayed at the ALVARO apartments where Allie and Eddie made us very welcome as did all of the staff,the apartment very clean, linen and towels always checked and changed every two days,pools very clean and well maintained one has a water slide good fun and if you are taking children they have a play area.The food very good and varied,the breakfast great.Moving onto the town thats really good lots of shops restaraunts serving a wide range of quisine,i can especially recommend the Tandori Sizzler next to the ICR office,Lavant and his team are really good they make you feel special and have such a menu its hard to choose but when you do believe me you will not be dissapointed its MMMMMMM!! Also if you like something on the menu but would like to alter that dish they are more than happy to change any item on the menu to your taste,not only do you get a fantastic meal you also get entertained. The guys also make children very very welcome our grandchildren who were with us eat there nearly every night and by the end of our stay were good friends with the guys,but in all fairness everywhere we went in icmeler everybody was so friendly and welcoming unusual these days but very heartwarming,onto the beach well as with the rest of town cant fault it clean ,sun beds with mattresses ( at a small charge ) the sand is hot sometimes too hot to walk on barefoot,the promonade walk clean and goes all the way to marmaris all along the way small cafes so that you can stop a while and take in the view before continuing your walk,if you dont fancy the walk there is water taxis,just a pointer though on the walk from Icmeler to marmaris we met a guy selling strawberries if he offers you to taste one get the price first as my daughter in law took one and tasted it with that the guy thought that we wanted a punnet each cost her 50 lira (in supermarket 7 lira for kilo )we had about 3/4 kilo.,also when you go to the supermarket for the first time ask for a money card it gives you discount on alot of foodstuffs,you need to give it to the cashier before she starts to ring in your goods.Could write a book on the good bits of Icmeler and could recommend it to anyone if you are a couple or a family you will have a real holiday to remember and like us you will want to go back again and we will be back just as soon as we can.The real thanks though must go to the people of Icmeler.See you soon Icmeler.
