Our 7th year to Icmeler but ony ur 1st review, Flew from Manchester Monday 26th July for 2 weeks. Stayed at Avlu 1 apartments, everything fine.
Around Icmeler: didn't notice too much change even though its bn 2 yrs since we were there. All bars/restaurants seem the same, the odd change being on the canal where Dreamboys is now named Private but still known as Dreamboys! Korsan Bar now closed and reopened as a Karaoke Bar. The fountains in the main square are new an for those who are regular visitors it still feels like home.
Eating out: Visited Romance, Dreamboys, Maestro, Majestic, The Garden, Pizza Tomato, Nefes, etc all very enjoyable never had a bad meal anywhere, still good value for money.
Love Boat: more expensive than others but well worth it for Quality, service, presentation etc.
Boat Trips: Captain Bullshit sunday excellent value full english breakfast, sailed 10 - 5pm with 5 stops for swimming and a visit to Turunc, all for £12.
Prices: pretty good around resort efes varied 3-5 lira best value supermarket. Please beware if ordering vodka/spirtits with a mixer, 1 drink didnt contain vodka just lemonade!
Weather: Hot hot hot! oh and humid day average 38 deg went to 42 and 48 other days. 31 at 8pm then 28 at 11pm.
Waterpark in Marmaris on beach good for day out.
All in all Icmeler remains home. Theres no place we would rather visit but maybe it time to change the entertainment on an evening in the bars and bring it uptodate. Time to drop Michael Jackson, Tina Turner routines.
Word of warning: Dalaman Airport prices, 17 lira a pint of efes in sports bar, mcdonalds is double home prices as is pizza hut and kfc.
Try and eat b4 you go.
Other than that, we will be going back for another 7 yrs!
