We checked in at Edinburgh airport but unfortunately was at the end of a very long queue! As we were flying out on a Friday evening we skipped the food and went straight onto drinking Efes!! The flight was on time but unfortunately we had to wait 2 hours due to there being no catering on board! When we did eventually depart we were only offered biscuits,milk,water and orange juice! Obviously by this point we just wanted to fly out so weren't too bothered! The flight was ok and staff couldn't be any more helpful! The seats were even quite spacious and flight was only 4 hours 15 mins!
Luckily as I had already been to Icmeler 4 weeks before my visa was still valid so I got through passport control quickly. I had time to pop into duty free before my case had come off so was all well timed!
The transfer was ok but we didn't use ICR! The driver could speak very little english but he learnt that I could speak a little turkish! He made me sit beside him on the way there and we made enough conversation to get by..this included telling me all about his daughter and son..bless! This actually made the journey seem to go faster
Our first night was obviously our first morning and around 6.30am, so I popped into the Lemon Tree as a lot of my friends work there, we stopped in for a free cup of tea then off to bed to start a week of partying. The following day I went to meet a friend through facebook who was coming with her mum and younger sisters, when we met up it felt like we had known each other for years and our mums were inseperable. Every night we would venture to a different bar and at this time of year a lot of bars were quiet. The liveliest bars were the big Friends,Venice and Majestic. Everywhere else was pretty dead! The night we went to dream boys we even received a free fishbowl, I think it was possibly to try and keep us in but unfortunately as there wasn't a lot of customers there wasn't a great atmosphere! The weather was actually quite warm although it did rain one night! I do have to mention Lemon tree though for the wonderful night they made for my birthday. They sorted out a great night and had a massive chocolate cake made for me followed by a night in Marmaris on a rented dolmus which all of us had paid for together! I even got 2 presents off them so all in all a good birthday!
I did find compared to October last year this season was quieter and I believe a lot of bars and possibly the clubs may be closing sooner! I do enjoy going in October but I think if it's going to be this quiet next year then it's possible a September visit will be more likely! To be fair before I went back this time I was considering not coming back for many reasons but thanks to having an amazing time this visit I am definitley coming back next year now..Roll on 2010!
All in all a great holiday and sad to be back! But it does help to know that places are now quiet so not as many people will be out until next year! This was the best time in Icmeler I have ever had and Im looking at re-booking very soon!
