First time in Icmeler!

Flight out:
had a night flight from Manchester to Dalaman with TC, flight was fine and on time, however transfer was slow leaving the airport (40min delay) and the pointless 15min comfort stop really p*ssed me off (there and back), what's the point on a 1 1/2 hr transfer?!

Accomodation:
Stayed at the Mitos Apartments, got Room 101 which I wouldn't recommend cos it's ground floor facing a path with a tiny Balcony. However the room was large, very clean with an excellent shower. Would definitely go back if I could guarantee one of the rooms with a decent balcony. The bar area is excellent and the lads really look after you, 3.50 lira for an Efes which is good value. Pool is great but bit of a fight for sunbeds as there aren't many... worth getting up early if you fancy a day by the pool... some **** stuck their towels out and then didn't ever come to the pool which really ******* me off.

Food/entertainment:
Ate at Chef, Lighthouse, Love Boat, Coco Beach(? I think, the large one on the beach front on the corner of the main road with the Cakes on display), La Grotta. All were good, especially Lighthouse and Love Boat. Chef I felt a bit dodgy after. Coco Beach or whatever it was called was mentally busy and the spag bol was tiny but tasty.

Had the BBQ at Mitos which was excellent and fantastic value. Not really into the shows to had plenty of beers and wine in the chilled out bars. Cafe Del Mar right at the end is a nice spot.

Other stuff:
Did the Thomas Cook Turkish Bath excursion for £10 each which was a great way to spend your afternoon, but prepared to be mithered to death about getting all the extras on top, we didn't bother and it was still good fun and good value.

Thought the beach wasn't great, only went once and saw a baby do a crap on the sand right in front of us. Sea was very cold, so mainly just stuck to the pool.

There was little to no mithering, had hated it on a family holiday when i was about 12 in Kusadasi and this was my first time back to Turkey, found the atmosphere great and the Kurds/Turks very friendly and accommodating, just make sure you double check their arithmetic on the bills as had a couple of discrepancies.

Happy with Thomas Cook over all but would consider private transfers if have another night flight. Flight home was fairly uneventable but Dalaman airport is a disgrace and the gate system ludicrous.


Overall, loved our first time in Icmeler and if can get another bargain might consider heading back!
