What can I say about my time in Icmeler?
It was my first time in Icmeler and I had the best time ever which I have my cousin and all the forum members to thank for, as I wouldn’t have given Turkey a thought if it wasn’t for you guys.
The weather was amazing, the days were relaxing and the bars (and staff) were fab!
When we arrived at Dalaman, I had butterflies in my stomach, a mix of excitement but also nerves, because I didn’t know what to expect.
The transfer went smoothly even if we were the last people to be dropped off, and the driver kept stopping for cigarette breaks!! Our apartments, Club Tokmak, were great, the owners were lovely, couldn’t do enough for you. There was no need to fight for a sunbed, and the pool area was always kept clean and tidy. On our first day we actually had the pool area to ourselves for most of the morning!
We were regulars in the WonderBoys (Leo and the guys are brilliant – I recommend you try it!!), No Name Bar (a brilliant wee place we found hidden in a side street, again the guys are great!), Friends Bar (a good night!) We had some hassling, but they are just trying to make a living and a “no thanks” was all that was needed. I can honestly say I felt comfortable and safe in Icmeler, which is a new experience abroad. I would honestly recommend Icmeler to anyone; the people are just the best.
We mostly ate in Sweet brothers, Peking, Timeless, Friends, Bart Simpson’s (where we meet the lovely Sharon – such a laugh!) and Venice. Have no complaints about any of them, great service, great food.
I couldn’t believe how quickly my 2 weeks went - I enjoyed every minute! We did the talk of the town show which was sooo funny, if you haven’t tried it then I suggest you do, laughed non-stop the whole way through.
I enjoyed myself that much that within 2 days of being home, I booked next years holiday – to the same apartments! So the countdown has begun….

Roll on 2009… I am now officially addicted.
