Just back from
Marmaris this morning so am a wee bit depressed
We had a really nice time, much better than I thought it would be. Yes it's a huge place in comparison with
Icmeler but the Turkish/Kurdish people we met were lovely. The beach front is goregeous to walk along during the day. The bars are fab, the apartments were good value for money with nice owners who made us feel very welcome. We went into Icmeler one night however it seemed really sad and quiet and I kind of wish I had just remembered it to be the lovely place it is in the summer. We only stayed about an hour and a half and went back to Marmaris. To eat one night I had the fish in salt this time, something I had been saying I would have to try and it was absolutely delicious. We went to Green Beach Fun Pub on about 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Also went to a Karaoke bar on Thursday night (not that we sung) and had a really good time. A couple of the lads we met in Icmeler in August came through to visit us and it was really good to see them and also very thoughtful of them. The flights were fab again the only down point with the flight home was that 4 flights arrived within a few minutes of each other and the equipment to get the cases loaded off the planes broke down, so it took an hour and a half to get them. There were a few miserable faces by the end of it
Anyway according to hubbie it's Thialand next year. However it's not the end of my love affair with Marmaris/Icmeler - not by a long way
