portfino review

Postby shirleyoconnor » 02 Jul 2008 12:45

just got back from the portfino prison of war camp
had lovely time in icmelar met some great people but the hotel food was horrible
salad every day every meal 1 main course and rice i dont mind that but they were not fresh every day. the main course was served cold the next day and the next untill it was gone or off the desert was melon every meal or rice pudding a couple of times
we were lucky and budjeted to go out but some people hadnt and the ones with kids had a really hard time as there was nothing for children not a chip in sight once we had cake for breakfast from the day before and cheese rolls which had been in cling film and were soggy, some one put their name on an egg and put it back in the tray it was served for the next three days, then they scrambled them all up
we even had sprouts in tomato ketchup and cheese sauce and brocoli no one ate them so the next day they mixed them together in cheese sauce

we complained to the manager and rep who told us we couldnt expect much more as we were allowed 8 pound a day for food and drinks

the al bar we were restricted to one drink each and were not allowed to stock pile any on the table we were told we were greedy if we asked for any more during the football a group of us were taking turns to get the drinks in we were stopped from getting rounds in as they said we were stock piling them so we didnt have to pay for drinks when the free bar
closed
its a shame because the hotel was clean and in a good location but by the end of the first week loads of us were feeling sick and fed up with the hassle of begging for drinks and decent food the thing that kept us going was the great people we met and are keeping in touch with :x

My sister stayed there last year and she couldn't eat the food either.
She went out every day for her meals.
