Arrived in
dalaman at 13.15 to blistering heat, through visa and passport control fairly quickly despite a lot of planes arriving at once.Picked up our
transfer and at last Paradise here we come.
Arrived at the Alvaro to meet up with all our old friends,we were the last of The Alvaro gang to arrive so it was a great welcome from both staff and friends.First restuarant of the holiday was the lighthouse wonderful meal and a great welcome from all the staff rack of lamb was as good as last year (didn't even need a menue how sad is that ).Headed up to Noel's and saw all the boy's big changes with the staff but made friends with the new guys,Niamh fell in love with the young boy who helped out at night in Noel's.
Up bright and early although I wasn't feeling to well, put it down to the travelling and the heat.Managed to get throuh the day.Wednesday morning felt really ill, with chest pains and feeling sick decide to go and get it checked.Ended up spending the next 4 days in hospital Abu Hetman first 24 hours where in ICU an experience I don't want to repeat. What can I say about the hospital.Well I did get tests done that would have took months to wait on if I had been at home, the hospital was spotless, the food was awful and the nursing care was not great.Eventually they decide I could go back to the Alvaro but had to take it easy for the rest of the holiday. By the way the insurance company was excellent dealing with everything very quickly and phoning to make sure we had everything that we need even after I had got out.Oczan and his wife looked after us really well making sure Tony was taken and collected from the hospital everyday sometimes twice so a big thank you to them both.
The rest of the holiday was very quite most nights I ended up in bed by 10.30pm.Had some lovely meals The Wayside, Selam excellent food and Noels food and entertainment were great.Disappointed with the meal in the Lemontree really wasn't very nice but the staff are all lovely. There is a restaurant next to the hospital called Jacaranda which is excellent looked after hubby and even brought food over to me the last 2 days of my stay nothing was to much trouble for them and we hadn't meet any of the staff before, they even brought me back to The Alvaro the day I was discharged.
Bumped into a few people from the forum,Diane C and her family, Robbo his wife and little girl, Victoria B, Jan and Gail all lovely people. Also called in at
ICR with a few things for the orphanage.
Niamh got to do her boat trip with her dad and big sister although didn't do the jeep safari maybe next year.Mind you she did seem to enjoy herself even though things didn't go to plan.
Now all I can do is get myself back to full strenght so that when hubby and I return in September we can have the holiday we didn't have in July.
