Flag Wave

Postby JT » 21 Sep 2009 06:32

Rami, Irem and Sharon (my wife) will today at 14:00 ish attempt the climb to the flag along with the dogs Pancho and Lara.

I will be at base camp (my house) taking the shots from the camera and the video also.

I will be of course keeping the beers cool and the wine at the right temperature for when they descend, so watch this space later on today for liveish photos from the flag.

I admire your fortitude and resilience John.
How many people do we Icmelerites know who could sit in those searing temperatures and heat looking through that little eye piece filming while others are rambling up a slope.
My hat comes off to you mate you are a true martyr to the cause and I wish there were a few more like you who would consider others before themselfes.

Please John at least have one of those cold Efes to keep your temperature down and replace those lost body fluids during this marathon filming.

Gene

I thought about having a cold one while they were climbing that slippery slope just so my hands wouldn't shake too much whilst I was holding the camera but I thought to myself that it would be a bit selfish.

Thankfully you have made me realise that I will have to do it just to make sure that the photos go on crisp and clear.

I may force myself to have a glass or two of Shiraz just to keep my pecker up.

They btw will be taking a nice bottle of wine and a picnic to have when they get to the summit so they too will join me in a toast for completing the task

They came back down from the top on the PATH and Rami and co reckon thats the girly way as they actually climbed up the mountain away from the path and it wasn't until they decided to come down that they saw that there was a path

I think its a fantastic achievement for anyone to climb up to that flag.
Well done to all the intrepid explorers who have done this feat.
