Mark had these at the Love Boat Restaurant a couple of years back - just had to take a photo. He said that they were the best he'd ever eaten :)

Rowdy

Ask them first how big they are, as it depends what they can get hold of, and sometimes they are smaller than that.

Reesy

Just pull their heads of, peel and eat and enjoy

Hi, do you remember how much the meal was, as I love fish myself but have read in previous posts that it can be quite expensive in Icmeler   . Must be one of the few things that is!!

Yes its crazy but seafood is expensive.

I think it may have something to do with the area and that the sea has a high salt content so only certain types of fish are caught there.

The likes of Bream and bass are not that expensive but shellfish, well you world have to sell your mother  to get some.

Always ask for a price before ordering shellfish in any restaurant.

Hi NataJack

As Admin says, seafood is very expensive in Turkey. The King Prawns are anything from about £27 to £40, depending on how much they have paid for them, and how big they are etc., Lobster is a lot more than that even.

I know when we enquired about the price of lobster, in various restaurants, it was dearer than in the UK, and that's saying something. Just have to make do with the sea bream or sea bass which taste wonderful too.

My sister decided she would like to try fish and chips in the restaraunt beside Waterfall. She looked at the menu and decided on the fish done in it's own little oven. As it was for two I went along with her choice. We had a starter then watched as the waiter hurried outside with his hammer and chisel (lol). He cracked oven the wee clay oven, prepared the fish and presented it to us complete with salad and about 6 chips. It was quite nice but nothing spectacular. Imagine our surprise when the bill arrived and we had to pay 129TL. :( It was Gruber fish which is charged per pound. It was the end of Ramadan so we told the waiters to leave any left overs for us. :) It was only the second day of our holiday. She's been well warned to ask prices now. But it was fun and we still had a great holiday. That was my first visit 4 years ago and I've not let her live it down since.
