Papa P
We were at the Daystar 17th till 24th Sept, so I think just missed you. The chap running round the Apts never did get thrown in by Teddy and co....But good fun just the same.
Till next year.....

There wasnt much pool throwing going on the two weeks we were there though! I did end up in there in may though!

Hi Stevew

The Daystar apartments look great. Would you say they are child friendly - i.e. plenty of room for children to play etc in safety? and whereabouts are they ? Great photos by the way.

Hi Kazz59
Club Daystar is in map area 3, opposite the Rhodes and Baba Tuncay Apts,
The main pool is all 1 depth approx 4ft 6in, there is a little room to play,
but not knowing the age range can`t comment. Also next to the apartments is a small park with swings and roundabout. Papa_p may be able to add more.

Oh...meant to say Steve...cracking pics! ;) :)

Kazz59, anytime I have been at the Daystar there have always been kids staying there and they always seem to have a ball! Yes the main pool might be a single depth, but so long as they can swim they are never out the pool! There is also a shallow kids pool. The rooms themselves are large enough to give them somewhere within the apartments to run riot as well!

Either way, Teddy and the guys that work there are great with any of the kids i've seen there! They will make sure they are kept well entertained!

And as stevew says, there is a playpark right next door to stop them getting bored!

As for where they are, they are at most a 10 minute walk for me to the ATM machines, so you're talking maybe 15 - 20 minutes with young kids.

hope this helps! :)

Thanks Steve & Papa P - I'm trying to persuade my son and his family to join us next year (children aged 5 & 3).Unfortunately he is one of those mis-informed people (you know the type) who think Turkey is the pits and that the Turks are slimeballs. If he would only try it, he would love it as much as we all do, and I know he would get on famously with the Turks - he even looks like one.

We just got back on Saturday and the 5 newbies to Icmeler who came with us absolutely fell in love with the place - so we are all going to work on him. In the meantime I'm trying to find a hotel that is child friendly. We usually stay in the cheap and cheerful ones that are not really adequate for young children - and we normally prefer it that way - been there, done that, worn the t-shirt. Have discovered though that I miss the grandkids so much that I'd love them with us. As you say, the Turkish are fantastic with children and they would have such a good time.

kazz, to be honest i was always of the same thinking as your son! It was only after looking for a very late deal in 2004 that we considered it...just to get away for a week. So it was off to Icmeler and I havent looked back!

I went to Costa Adeje in tenerife in january and it doesnt come close to comparing to Icmeler!

In fact I suggested it to a female friend and her mum back in August. They were also wary of Turkey after some of the horror stories they had heard. But they booked into the Mola Apartments anyway...and LOVED it! They actually came back and thanked me for suggesting it!

If your son still wont consider it...tell him he'll get sent to his room without any supper!
