My pet hate is photoshopping (don't mind clearing up noise and maybe colour a bit) definitely no distortion though
You have now made a rod for your own back
Try sitting on a chair in the street next to the canal where Zaza's was at the end of the Alinda
hotel and sit patiently with a beer and wait for the kingfisher to zip up and down along the canal.
He sometimes perches on a little root sticking out of the bank near to the bridge to do his fishing
Now there is an action shot if you can catch him diving
I quite agree with photoshop(ing) - it can be a very lengthy process, I also use lightroom though which can adjust exposures / hues / tints etc and you can edit a whole batch - makes it a bit easier (I also shoot mainly in RAW or RAW+JPEG format as it gives you more control over any 'sweet' shots you may get).
Will need a very fast shutter speed to get a diving kingfisher - I do like a challenge although my wife and daughter may moan when I sit for hours on end trying to get that shot lol.
What camera did you get John?
I'll also be taking my P&S camera as I don't want to be carrying almost a grands worth of camera equipment around all the time lol.
