I have just been told that there has been some sort of gas explosion that has sent love boat and chef up in flames. Apparently it happened a couple of hours ago, I just hope there wasnt anyone in either of the buildings

Terrible news if this is the case; really hope nobody hurt, would be grateful if anyone locally can provide more information.

I heard lots of sirens earlier on tonight and afterwards firemen came up to Nefis Pide, but what exactly happened I'm not sure. Have heard reports that there was lots of smoke rising from that area. I will try and find out what happened tomorrow. Sorry can't help any more at the moment

Just been talking with someone who is chatting with Ayfer from friends .....he says apparently gas explosion and its quite windy there so Love boat and Chef burnt down within 30 minutes........not sure how much of this is gospel

That's awful. I hope rumour has exagerrated it and is not too bad and most importantly of all I hope no-one was hurt.

How awful, I hope nobody was hurt. What about the hotels too, surely these would be have been affected if there was some kind of explosion and fire - Devamli and Diva? I really hope it's not as serious as it sounds and all are safe and well.

Have just heard from a friend:

Last night there was a fire in the Chef Restaurant,and some gas bottles has exploded,that was the reason of explosions. İt spread to the love boat restaurants roof to. Thank God it is out of season now, so no one was in the both places and nobody didnt get hurt

Spoke to the owner of Chef restaurant last night and said that the explosion started in the loveboat
lot of smoke damage to both places and both hotels
no one was killed luckily as it happened out of season

Pretty lucky that it happened now rather than once the season had started. Imagine the chaos then! Still, there will be some damage to rectify I'm sure. Poor things.

I have just been down and damage is pretty extensive. Chef is gutted inside and looks much worse off than Loveboat, but one block of Diva Hotel also damaged. Fire officials still not sure what caused it but most likely to be gas bottle explosion. No one was injured at all which is the good news.

Thank you for putting the pictures up. That is awful. Poor owners. Do these places have insurance?

Looks bad, Elvis will be very upset but hopefully both will be refurbished & not close.
Always enjoyed my steaks at the Chef & Salman was always excellent at looking after us.
