Tansas is currently closed while work goes on inside. I have been told that as the apartment above (that were never finished) had no permission Tansas are expanding to cover 2 floors. Last seasons competition from Dia must have taken its toll.

Thanks again Barnie
They better not interfere with the Bakery next door! (The best in Icmeler??) I think so.

Thanks very much for keeping us all updated with your photos, Barnie - much appreciated!
And yes,John, I agree - it's a great bakery. Lovely bread, and so cheap!

We're definitely going to need more "dough" this year. If everything is a little bit more expensive it makes a big difference overall, especially as we're going for three weeks self catering. Slightly off topic but has anyone else noticed that haggled prices don't come down as much as they used to?

Yes we found the same, to be honest we don't do much cloth or present shopping now as it's often more expensive than here,

As the prices don't get lowered as much and with the stricter luggage allowance at the airport, I don't think that we'll be buying much from now on either. Shame really as I love the beautiful embroidered tablecloths and towels.

As we seem to be getting more lire to the pound at the moment the small increase in some prices should make little difference, so swings and roundabouts really.

I know there's a small increase in the exchange rate, but I was thinking of when haggled prices came down quite a lot and the exchange rate was upwards of 2.6, a few years ago it was 2.9 which was absolutely brilliant. As for the increase in the exchange rate it looks as if that has come to an end.If what I read is right the expected trend is now that Turkey will follow the other countries with the way they attack inflation meaning that the rate is now going to go down. I hope that these predictions are wrong.
I suppose Tansas is also expanding now that it has an extra competitor with Kippa( which is Tesco).
