thanks for the photo's gene looks like alot of renovations going on, we're going in may can't wait to see whats happening do you know about dreamboys we went there alot last year.

nottswood the lads from dreamboys have said they are rebuilding the bar ready for new season but I have a friend out there saying nothing is happening with it at the moment so dunno what's going on.

joes bar was on the corner opposite the S hotel,or if you passed Linekers on your left and carried on past Blondies when you come to the road end it would be on your right side corner,hope that makes sence,sure somebody else will give a better detail if thats not clear

Very interesting,seems there is still a lot of work to be completed before the start of the New Season which is now not to far off......

been told by 2 of the staff at dreamboys that they will be open for the new season??? i know it wasnt everyone's cup of tea but i did like to chill there in the afternoons watching the world go by...slowly of course....

Been told by the two barman at dreamboys it will definately be open and they are supposedly going back soon to help with the renovations.

On the facebook page they have said they entrance will be at the side now, not front facing the canal and they all seem sure that it will be up and open for May! Hopefully this is all true!

I know that the place has a very bad rep on here but I for one love the place and would be sad to see it go. I've only ever had a great service in there, with good food and great entertainment. Remember one evening in September where it was heavily raining and the restaurant was packed where we all moved under cover, the boys did an excellent job of entertaining us all and were dancing in the pooring rain - how they managed to stay on there feet I'll never know!

I wrote about the entrance being at the side now as that's what one of the lads told me. whether it's true or not i don't know. my friend is out there now and is coming back in a few days so will get all the goss

I`m with you on this one Eric. I have never taken to the place either and have never been keen on any of the staff there. I dont ever think i will be booking that trip to the moon anyway. lol

Didnt take any photo's but lot of clearing up and rebuilding being done this week - apparently the bars have two weeks to get everything sorted. Walked past Dreamboys, totally demolished - all frontage back to the Private Hotel and apart from a stack of breeze blocks no activity at all up until yesterday - but who knows after today? The derelict restaurant at the top of the canal at the corner (can't remember the name) which looked very sorry last year has been demolished and little supermarket before Dreamboys has been taken back a little also.

Walking along the sea front - Cafe Anna, Erdem, Coco Beach - all gone, now very green grassed areas (is confusing to know where you are when you first see this area now!). Linekars Bar on the beach is still a pile of rubble but I've heard this is to become a mini golf area. Lots of work being done on the Fantasia Hotel (formerly Laguna) but whole promonade bit from Canal up towards Can's Cafe is a minefield - all rubble in piles.

Love Boat and Sports Inn nearly completed, new frontage to both (plus other bars along this stretch of road) - all taken back from the pavement, otherwise doesn't look too different.

Green Mar Hotel and Friends Bar on opposite side - Friends roof demolished and work underway.

Las Vegas restaurant by the ATM's in the square is now inside the hotel there, but large open space at the side where the restaurant used to be - probably will be tables and chairs there but obviously no roof.

New Turkish Delight restaurant (where Pyramid used to be) is looking finished - it's a very large restaurant now!

Hakan and Levent's new bar (formerly Chill Bar) will be completed soon - dont know what the new name will be.

New "Discount Supermarket" on the site where Pop Inn used to be - similar to the Tansas supermarket

All in all lots of activity going on - knowing how quickly things are turned around there, for the start of the season everything will be sorted. I do wonder where you will get your lunch-time fixes or beach service on some parts of the beach (Yakamoz still ok) there does appear to be a large area of beach where there isn't going to be a restaurant close to the beach but that may change over the next couple of weeks, who knows?

Icmeler is definitely waking up ..... with sounds of hammering, drilling and arguing Turks well into the night! (no change there then!)

Good update Chris, With only 5 weeks to go until the holiday makers start descending on Icmeler what you say means that a lot of activity is still required to clear away the rubble.
We arrive there on 21st May and are looking forward to seeing the results of all this work and noting all the changes that have been made.
