No Erdem, what a shame. Lunching in that lovely shade will be sorely missed. :(

Can't understand what all the fuss has been about this years building work, it is nowhere near as bad as it has been in previous years!
The council have advised that all work has to be finished by 15th April (was originally 1st April) and all the rubble etc will be gone by then. Some of the imporovements are looking much better and the pavements are wider and easier to use as all the illegal extensions have been removed.
The restaurants were warned to sort the illegal things out and were made aware of the consequences if they didn't comply!
I am sure you will not notice anything too different except down on the beach front. Would just add that I went past the canal today and some builders were at the dreamboys site clearing up and bricks etc were being delivered, so possibly its being rebuilt??

I think the 'fuss' about this years building works is that there has been so many demolitions/refurbishments this time round and its not very often we get to know or see what is going on in resort during the winter months. I like to keep updated on whats going on in Icmeler and I'm sure many others do, the updates make us look forward to our holidays even more than usual.

Here here, some of us have friends who work in these places too and we like to know they will have a place of work, so i personally like the 'fuss'.

I've heard from a reliable source that it's going to be business as usual at the Erdem this season.... we'll have to wait and see I suppose...

I thought part of it, at least, had been, according to earlier reports on here anyway. Maybe someone can confirm what's happening?

I've heard this morning that a new supermarket has been built in Icmeler to replace the existing Tansas. Not so bad news you may think... But.......

I also have it on very good authority that Dream Boys is opening up in the old Tansas premises.

If only the local cooncils would be as proactive in Argyll, maybe places like Oban would get a right good kick up the Erchie!!!

The changes can only be for the better.
