old village

many of the pics Gene has posted are in the old village, including Mr Chef, not just in the centre. Not sure where in the old village your apartments are but if they are anywhere near Mr Chef its only 10 minutes to the centre. Unless they are right at the back then it may be 20 mins but the Dolmus (small buses) run frequently all round Icmeler if you dont fancy the walk! 8)

Hob Nobs is just off the main square and behind Linakers.
Under The Cartier Hotel.
Hob Goblin and Buffalo Bar are cheaper than 90pence a pint its just a case of looking round, its 6YTL at the Stella Show at Harmony but you are getting a live show.

Bars of Icmeler

Postby marjorie arnold » 12 May 2009 00:19

Many years ago when we started going you could eat and drink your way round Icmeler in a fortnight.
With the best will in the world looking at all Gene's photos I couldn't do it now..but I would give it my best shot.
Thanks Gene, great memories

Gene your photo's are amazing and brought back many happy memories...but with all the bars/restaurants that I didn't know, looks like I will be making lots of new ones too.

That must have took a lot of time and patience to take all those photo's, so thank you, you've just brought my holiday tht little bit closer ( 8wks) :D

All the pics of the bars were taken in the early morning, the most heart wrenching thing being I passed all those bars and never once did I call in for a pint.
Some of the bars have undergone name changes and others have been closed down never again to ply thier trade.
It was never a chore but gave me great pleasure as I walked round our Icmeler.
