Living in America

Postby jools » 10 Mar 2009 00:55

I recently returned to the UK after studying at a University in America for 4 months. I've finally uploaded some photos, so thought I'd share a few of my memories with you all. :)

At the Grand Canyon

Arriving in Vegas at 5.00am wasn't enough to stop me getting involved!
Image

Beating the system in Vegas! I was a gambling virgin til then!

Possibly a little tipsy at a friend's wedding in Vegas, but I love this photo! It sums up the Vegas experience for me (minus a quickie wedding of course!!)

The Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco

The Tram, San Francisco. We used these to get everywhere, they are just fantastic!!

Shamu in Seaworld, San Diego

This dolphin came straight up to me as soon as I approached, it made me smile.

Seattle was COLD. This is the famous Pike place fish market.

The space needle, Seattle.

I visited NYC twice on my trip, the difference in dates is obvious...in this one I'm in a vest, but in the other, it's a big coat for me haha! This photo was taken on top of the Empire State Building as the sun set.

Ice skating around the rockerfeller centre NYC.

They found out some English girls were in the bar, and made us dance on top of it!

This is how Oregon looked as the autumn kicked in. It's easy to understand why I loved living there.
Image

Studying in the leaves :) I loved doing this as it was still warm enough to be sat on the ground when the leaves changed out there!!

There's lots more but I'll be posting forever!!!

I actually spent a weekend in Portland with some friends and loved it there. That's where the photo of us on top of a bar was taken...Portland is a really fun place!
However, Seattle didn't really do it for me. It was fun as an experience but I don't think I'd go back.
I didn't visit Mt St. Helens, but we did visit Mt. Shasta in California, which was incredible. It makes its own weather and consequently produces its own clouds, which you can watch coming out of the peak!
