Got back in the early hours of this morning after another great 2 weeks in Icmeler.
On the way to Dalaman, we stopped for a break, and this thing flew into me as I was outside the coach stretching my legh. It was about 3-4 inches long and had the rest of the passengers on the coach diving for cover. Has anyone any idea what kind of beetle it is?

It looks like some sort of stag beetle but I'm no expert and I suppose it'll 'bug' you until you find out it's name. Whatever it's called it belongs in a horror film

It's a Giant Water bug but I can't be sure of the species. They're found world wide, with the Thai species reaching over 4 inches.
While they're harmless, they can give a slightly painful bite.
They fly from pond to pond, especially at this time of year when they're looking for a mate. They eat small fish, tadpoles and the like.
I'm quite jealous, actually - I've been wanting to keep these as "pets" for some time.
Hope this helps.
