This is the coal powered power station at Fiddlers Ferry in Widnes, they are looking to build more of these around the country.
This is what the government calls clean power what do you think.

Must admit that from where I live it looks just like clouds to the people who don't know what it is as there is that much smoke/steam coming out of it.
I live near to sonai and you should see that.
By the way, off topic subjects are not a problem on this forum as long as it does not get
ICR in trouble with any laws and nothing gets out of hand
iImust tell Colette
That looks like Morrisons car park

Ok as there is a photo involved and it's not strictly
Icmeler related I will move this to the photo lounge and let it run as long as the discussion doesn't turn into strong politics as we all have different political views.

Think Geovil was in Morrisons picking his Efes up.

Wonder he found it through all that smoke.

I read the top of the funnels are meant to have a special filter to block the pollution entering the air

The only thing that is supposed to be blown off is steam I have never seen dark grey steam except at Fiddlers Ferry and if you think this is bad you should see the pollution coming from what used to be ICI in Runcorn it just makes me laugh when they talk about carbon footprints in this part of the world it is not a footprint, more like a herd of elephants footprints.

My dad worked at the old ICI plant in Ellesmere Port, often as you drive down the M53 the smoke is still horrendous, another place I notice it is on the M56 driving past Helsby Hill.

Its only water vapour=steam, used in the cooling process. You should be more worried when they build the incinerator at Ineos, its gonna burn a large amount of waste, mainly from Greater Manchester.
Prevailing winds will blow most of the pollution in the direction of Widnes/Warrington.

Its more than just water vapour and the incinerator at Ince will affect all areas around its location it will be in a league of its own if it is built.
