Holiday in Ovacik, Near Hisaronu - Olu Deniz

Me, my wife Andrea, and daughter Katie - outside the reception area at the Blue Pearl Hotel, Ovacik.


Katie and Laura's best friend, Mehmet. Always there to switch the slide on or to play pool/table tennis.


Our balcony view with clouds coming over the mountains - 1st time it's ever rained for us in Turkey.


Shops in Hisaronu - all the best English companies are now trading abroad - well, kind of!


Main shopping/restaurant street in Olu Deniz, it got pretty busy but I liked it better than Hisaronu.


Took a taxi down to Olu Deniz and this is what you see when you get there - The colours where unreal,
shame I didn't capture them as they looked, it was stunning.


Paragliders take off Babadag mountain and land 6000ft below on a strip on Olu Deniz Beach.
Thats not Babadag mountain in the background, its just a speed bump!


A relaxing day on Sugar Beach - a sandy lagoon just around the corner from the famous Blue Lagoon.


It was so hot swimming in this lagoon, warmer than bathwater. Pedalos and canoes were available to rent.


The boat trip - an excellent relaxing day seeing all the islands and swimming in all the bays around the area.


The beach at Butterfly Valley, we did see a butterfly - yes, just one!


These tents on Butterfly Valley were there just incase you missed the last boat home!


A heart shaped tree we passed whilst on the boat trip.


Our boat captain (The Whaleman) diving off a bloody big cliff - nutter!


A lovely end to a fantastic day - we love the boat trips and always make sure we do at least one.

For a laugh we made these badges and all the family group travelled with them on.
By the end of the holiday all the hotel staff wanted one each!

We had a great time - not sure who Andrea m is but if she was at the Blue Pearl we must have bumpt into each other - its a smallish complex.

Olu Deniz was our first holiday to Turkey in 1993, there wasn't many shops at all then, nice to see it's developing in to a
lovely resort.We did the walk from Hisaronu to the Ghost town and we didn't pay to go into the ruins either how times
have changed ,but Icmeler is my all time favourite.
The photo's are terrific brought back some lovely memories thank you
