the scenery is nice but its very steep on the way up and the road is very narrow
i think the best way is to go by the taxi boat on the way there and use the dolmush bus on the way back to see the scenery
hope this helps

You can pick the dolmus up anywhere, just look for the white ones.... I don't think it will matter where it stops in Turunc.....it's not a very big town. Worth going the scenic route though

				hi hazel
no its not near tansas cause the bus goes up the back raod to the back of
icmeler so you have to go up the road to
marmaris till you get to post office and there is a bus stop on the other side of road hope this helps

The dolmus leaves Turunc on the hour and half past the hour back to Icmeler/Turunc. Dont think there is one a 1.30 pm for some reason though.

hazel i agree with katie hutchinson [sea taxis there dolmus back] its very steep for a long way up hill going back, and i think its much safer this way ,its the only way myself and my wife will entertain the trip, its very spectacular, and to some people [who have got off the bus and walked] a bit nervy. enjoy bill atkinson

Hazel, you must give it a go on the bus as the scenery is beautiful. The first time we went up and down the mountain I said 'never again' but now have a holiday home in Turunc and have done this trip many many times. The drivers do this all day and everyday remember and it is perfectly safe.

As mentioned elsewhere on the forum, we have been to
Icmeler several times but never gone outside the town, except to go to the airport, so this year we are going to make the effort to go to Turunc, but bit worried if the town is suitable for a wheelchair, also if the taxiboat will take it. Also what is
Marmaris like for a wheelchair.

Duffaire, I dont know if the water taxi will take a wheelchair but I dont see why not. Turunc is definitely wheelchair friendly as we hired one for two weeks for my father last year and had no problem whatsoever.

Following on from what everyone else was saying - does
ICR do day trips to Turunc? We went there a couple of years ago on a boat trip, but we only got about twenty minutes there, we didn't manage a day trip last year, but determined this year that we're going as it's such a lovely wee place.
Don't want to have to be clock watching all day, just want to be taken there, spend the day doing what every we want, then come back to Icmeler. There's nine of us going so want the cheepest way there and back

So if anyone knows, I'd be really greatful!
Thanks, Audrey

Hi Gene, Doh! Why didn't I think of that?

  Our
hotel is right on the harbour anyway. Gosh I'm so blonde sometimes I scare myself!
Thank you, it's a brilliant idea - glad someone's got their thinking cap on

The boat costs 7.5 tl each and the dolmus is 4tl.
The boat takes you to the marina area, and it's just a short stroll to the bars and shops. Just at the top of the canal, you'll find the dolmus stop with the times of departures, and this is where the dolmus will drop you off.
I've done the trip over by boat and back by dolmus and the reverse. The views are incredible both ways.
Try going on a Monday when they have their weekly market, and I must say they don't hassle you as they do in the main resorts.

				Aw thanks for that penny

. Last time I went there, it was on a all day boat trip and we didn't get very long in Turunc, but we all thought it was lovely and very quaint and would love to have a full day there.
You've just made my day and I can tell the rest of the family after work

Thanks again.
