anybody read article in the paper today about the turkish chef arrested in marmaris for attacks on women

timely reminder though that these things happen everywhere - and even on hol, you need to be careful

I read it to, and it said the cheeky sod even offered one of the women a lift back to her apartment but told her she'd have to give him petrol money.

Sorry but who in their right mind would accept a lift from a stranger!!!!
You wouldnt here in the Uk so why over in Turkey.
Yes i do feel alot safer walking around Icmeler on my own but no way would i accept a lift off someone i didnt know...even when drunk you always have to have your wits about you

But my heart goes out to the women

I don't think they did accept lifts. From what i read he jumped out on them. It was after the attack had taken plac, he asked if they wanted a lift back to hotel or apartments, but they would have to give him petrol money for his scooter.

Sorry i must have read it wrong..that he offered them lifts on his bike and then took them to mountains or wherever.
Sorry i know this is an awful thing either way

I read it and it said what you said Bec ,he certainly offered one of them a lift to her hotel or appartment but took her up into the hills and raped her. I suppose the reports will vary from newspaper to newspaper

hi every year in turkey i see the same thing too many young girls having far too much to drink enjoy yourself by all means but please stick together if you can remember you are in a foriegn country the drinks are stronger than ours get a licenced taxi back to hotels most turkish people are so friendly but some over friendly anyone going soon especially young girls please be careful too much drink sometimes is really not worth it happy holidays
