Kingsland Chinese Restaurant

Postby reesy1959 » 25 Oct 2008 14:26

We had 2 great meals in there this October. We opted for the set meal for 2 but we were allowed to swap things around that we didnt like. Typical Example was

45 ytl

Chicken and Mushroom Soup
Spring Rolls
Chinese Salad
Beef Chow Mein
Chicken with egg fried rice
Beef in mushrooms
Sweet and Sour Chicken
Bottle of wine.

Not bad for £10 per head and there was plenty of time in between courses to nip outside for a cigarette etc. Yilmaz was a great host too. We will definitely be returning next year.

Returned to Kingsland again this year and had the set meal for 2 at 49 lira, again we swapped and changed items on the menu and had a super night, well looked after by Yilmaz (Tommy) and Shadow.

Its on the same side of the road as Vince's, walk as though you are heading for Tansas and its just a few minutes away. Its opposite side of the road from Tansas.

Ate here after a reccomendation in early July 2011, meal set 2 course meal, small bland spring rolls, chicken and sweatcorn soup like dishwater, chicken/blackbean the sauce so thick looked like marmite and tasted terrible, chicken/ mushroom and fried rice again bland. this is the first time we have had a bad meal in all the years of eating out in Icmeler, there were only 5 other people in restaurant at the time as we decided to eat early 7.15pm so not rushed off their feet. and to think because we were told it was a good meal here we gave our original detination the Tandori sizzler a miss, never again.

We usually eat here once or twice during our holiday, but we didnt have time to go there this June. Sad to read the meals have gone down hill, I have always enjoyed it in the past.

Someone in June also told us they didnt enjoy their meal. I wonder if the chef/chefs have changed!
