Recommend the Holiday Restaurant

Postby Sue » 05 Jun 2008 13:53

My favourite resturant this year I think must be the Holiday, I asked for a childrens Roast Beef and Yorkshire pud this year and they came out with a small portion just enough for me followed by a small pancake made by the pancake man himself, only got charged half price.

Omar and Memhet are very nice, whatever you want they will cook for you.

They are loads of set menus, one which i had was 18lira for meze and bread, kebab on a stick with fried and salad followed by a pancake with ice cream. well worth the money.

Hi Sue, Yes I totally agree , it is one of my favourite places to eat & it's a quiet location, yes Mehmet ,Omar ( the chocoholic ) are a pleasure to be with , I understand that Mehmets younger brother Ali is back after his stint in the army .
I will email mehmet before we go to take his order for bisto gravy & whatever else . Glad you enjoyed the Holiday Restaurant.

Denis.

its took a while for Omar to understand what i meant but he got there in the end, i thought that he would charge me full price but i only paid half. I have tried many places over the years for small portions and the Holiday is the only place that got it right

if you walk past the florida towards the marmaris road, take a first left it is about 200 yards up the road, or another way is if you go the the Geordie bar there is a small street next to it go the the end of that road past the tolan and it is in front of you.

And to confuse you even more if you back is facing tansis cross the road and the road straight again walk down there and it is half way down

We really like the Holiday - Mehmet, Omar and the rest of the lads are great and the food has always been very good indeed. Nice to be greeted like old friends, and this time, the food was as good as ever. You have to try the pancakes - they are excellent! Good value too.

HOLIDAY RESTAURANT

What a fabulous restaurant this is. Never been in there before. Only stopped there by chance and ended up going 3 times in our week and then popping in for breakfast on our way back from the market. Great guys, great food and great hospitality. We will certainly be going back.

We love the Holiday - ate here again last Saturday and all our meals were great. Mehmet and the staff can't do enough for you, and it really is excellent value for money, especially the set meals. The place was packed out on Saturday night, and if you've never tried the Holiday, I would definitely recommend doing so next year. Oh, and Mehmet's pancakes are the best in Icmeler!
