My thoughts are with the familys of the dead and injured.
Having been in the middle of the Athens earthquake in September 1999 where 130 people lost their live and over 2000 people injured I can honestlyt say it was the most frightening experience in my life. It only lasted 15 seconds at magitude 6.0 but it seemed a lot longer with ceiling panels falling down, cracks appearing in walls etc. From the Tuesday until I left on the Friday we had 600+ aftershocks, people were living in tents in the streets and parks frightened to go back into their homes.
Knowing Turkey is an eathquake zone my wife and children know what to do in an eathquake, there are some tips on the following link
