Cappadocia and more

Postby tinkerbelle » 16 Feb 2010 15:34

What would be the best way to get to Cappadocia for maybe two nights. Would it be very expensive and how long would it take from Icmeler. Another place I would love to visit is Istanbul.
Suggestions for day trip

Thanks Marg

Tinkerbelle

I'm not sure about Cappadocia, although i have heard that it is not feasible from Icmeler.

But we have been to Istanbul a few times by making a two centre holiday of it. We did 4 nights in Istanbul and then 10 nights in Icmeler.

ICR can now arrange all this for you or you can do your own thing. We were forced to do our own thing as ICR did not have the package then but we found it okay. The only problem we had was arranging our transfer (or should i say completeing it sucessfully)as the taxi drivers are programmed for international arrivals when you are in fact at domestic arrivals and they are waiting at the international terminal. Make sure you have phone contact just in case.

Hi tinkerbelle,
I have not heard of any such excursions from Icmeler/Marmaris as it is a fair distances to travel. We visited Cappadocia 8 years ago while on holiday in Alanya and I fully recommend this excursion to anyone if they get the opportunity as there is nowhere else that is anything like this place.
Our trip which was organised by one of the local travel agents consisted of 3 days duration leaving about 5:30am with 2 nights half board accommodation and included a visit to the city of Konya.
Pleasant memories......

I have just worked this out for someone on the Trip advisor forum.

I know that Tink and Mark would love this and is easily done but you have to book ahead to get the flights at a very good price
