canal boat hire

hi will be a newbie to turkey this year seen pictures off the canal in icmeler can you hire rowing boats to go round it or is it just speed boats that take you to the sea what are the prices like to hire and would a family of 5 fit in, bit nervous going to different country but last couple off years looked at icmeler and thought it looked lovely.

hi .... there arn,t any row boats to hire as such, speed boats yes out to sea from the jetty. the canal is not like our english canals etc.more like ,for mountain flood relief in winter i think,they are only very short, then run off into the sea. one is quite dry as it reaches the town,and not very pretty,the one in the centre is very pretty,until it goes under ground in the centre of town, with a nice walk and market type stalls on both sides. a womens paradise !!!! enjoy bill A

hi no need to be nervous icmeler is great :D you should definately go on a boat trip around the bays a lovely lazy day out and great fun as already said by others you cannot hire a boat on the canal as it is only a storm rain runoff, also if you go into marmaris take a taxi boat from the pier at the end of the canal cheap and enjoyable you get a nice breeze :!: have a great time we always do :!: :!:

thanks for that we do usually do a boat trip but my son who is 14 doesnt like them he gets nervous so we will see thanks for replies.

tell your son not to be nervous i was the 1st time we went on one my hubbie had to drag me on, but after 10mins i was hooked go on at least 2 every year and have been for the last 10yrs :D
