Selen 2 Hotel

This thread has nothing to do with bean coloured cockroaches but we thought it was a good way to catch your attention :)

We are hoping to book a week in Icmeler at the Selen 2 hotel from the 21st of May. So just have a few questions for you fellow forum followers :D ........

Firstly... We were wondering if anyone has been to this hotel if so any opinions would be much appreciated.
Being 21 we are looking forward to a few cheeky vimtos during our duration and to take part in a few activities as well as eating out and we were wondering how much people recommend to take as spending money. On that note what are the best excursions to go on as we want to make the most of our holiday.

As we are going in may we were also curious as to what the weather is like and how busy it is.

Thank you in advance for any response and apologies for anyone who thought this thread was about bean coloured cockroaches

Never stayed at the Selem.
You will struggle to get cheeky vimtos anywhere in Turkey. Never seen WKD blues there, and I would imagine port to be quite expensive.
May should be reasonably busy as it will be starting to pick up as it gets into June, the weather should be starting to get quite hot and would expect nice warm days maybe in the high 20's as you get into June they will reach low to mid 30's

Really depends on how much you intend drinking. We take about 2k for a fortnight (2 adults, 1 child) even tho we normally go AI. We never ever spend all that we go with even taking into account that we normally spend a bit on clothes and watches!

PS. You will see bean coloured cockroaches!

Hi there,

I stayed in the Selen 2 in August 2007 with three friends. We were all 20 at the time. We had a brilliant time! The hotel itself is quite basic but nice enough although you only need the rooms to sleep, wash and store clothes in! The hotel is also clean. The pool area is lovely although after about 2/3 o'clock the sun goes down so half the pool is in the shade (which was a welcome break in August!). The staff there were all very friendly and they made a big fuss of one of our girls as it was her birthday (fireworks cocktails - the lot!). :D

Its ideally placed as its close enough to everything to walk to, I think its about three or four streets behind the main street.

The chute in the pool was also a big attraction - good fun had by all on that thing!

We took about £350 each for a week and we came back with money! We did not however go on any trips but certainly more than a "few" drinks were consumed most nights!

If you want me to send you some pictures, let me know! Sam :D

we've stayed in the selen three times and its a lovely hotel... we're stayying there again this year although not until september. hotel nice and clean. i budgeted for £50 per day and i never went without anything or ran out of money and at that spent quite a few nights in eastenders and pleasure! ( the two clubs in icmeler... stay open until about 4am) i would definatly recomend the lazy day boat trip( to nurse ur hangover!) we got the trip, lunch and all inclusive drinks for £12 (local spirits, wine, efes and soft drinks) very good value for money. £12 is roughly 30 lire.
Hope you have a lovely holiday! xx

I,think about £400 a week per person,is easily enough.unless you go on excursions every day, which I don,t think you will be doing,I find icemeler very reasonably for cost, hope you have a good time

Hiya
Yeah as i said have stayed in hotel and aparts number of times now.
Basically it just depends what apartment you get for the view...there is only really 2-3 that will be facing over to the hotel pool area...the others will be facing all around.
The pool area is lovely so sure your grandchildren will be happy
xx

The apartments are a seperate building across the street from the hotel and there only a few that face the pool area you should contact them with a request for a pool view before you go

I've not stayed here before but wanted to add that when my husband and I were there last June 2009 we spent around £600 for a fortnight.
