I think the travel time would be closer to 3 hours.

Hi DJ you can get a bus direct to Fethiye from the coach park in Marmaris, you then get the bus in Fethiye to Hisaronu. We did this trip a couple of years ago and it was so easy, the coaches leave every 1/2 hour from about 7am. We had asked our tour rep for the return trip and they quoted £80 each, the 2 of us did it ourselves for around £30. The coaches are air conditioned there are toilet stops along the way and from our hotel in Hisaronu to our hotel in Icmeler it took aprox 3 1/5 mins. On the coach there was a lad who gave us water and he also squirted us with lemon balm to freshen us up, all for free the service is second to non. So here a quick run down of the journey
Dolmus from Icmeler to centre of marmaris
Change at centre to dolmus to coach park.
Coach park to Fethiye
Fethiye to Hisaronu.
And no long waits between changes we just seemed to get of one when the other was ready to leave, hope you give it a try and enjoy the journey.

Yes, you need to get to Otogar in Marmaris - it's the main bus station. Get a dolmus from Icmeler to Tansas in Marmaris, then the green dolmus - same spot as you get off the previous dolmus - up to the bus station. It's about 16 lira for a direct bus to Fetihye - nice and comfortable.
