yeah i think if they dont re-build the bar that was there before that a new one will be built and take there place
icmeler is a busy resort and im sure that any bar built would generate enough business to make a substantial profit

I think there are too many bars already, a lot are never full and thats why you get so much hassel (Although last year was a lot better), also remember that any bars being rebuilt will need to obtain planning permission which may be tougher than people think as it never existed in the first place.

I think you're right, Dave - remember there were quite a few bars closed all, or most, of the season last year. Unless you're talking about one of the really popular places, the cost of rebuilding etc might not be worth it for some of the bar proprietors.

yeah Dave your right it depends how much demand there is for more bars or if the existing ones are coping
the planning permission is also a problem depends how easy it will be to obtain
all we have to do is wait and see

I think Icmeler will be better without these bars, my fave was The Chill Bar, for lounging on there sofas in a afternoon with an Efes, but that was gone last year and I still survived, Just went somewhere else with sofas instead.

We find new favourites if they old one has gone

That's true, Colette - as much as we might miss particular favourites if they've gone, sometimes it takes something like that to make you seek out new places, which then become 'new favourites'. Looking forward to seeing the changes which have taken place this year anyway.

Maybe the council is right in pulling down these extensions. A resort can easily get tacky & develop the wrong kind of reputation. Suddenly you have another Faliraki.

I agree , it's only been the last few years I have moved on from bars and found new favourites, I make sure now we try several new places each year.

Can;t wait for the season to start so we can see peoples pics of the bars etc

My friend has sent me some photos today and from what i can make out the Kontes and Yasmin have gone does that mean the Irish bar has gone?
