It speaks the words so you can talk along with it.

We are returning to Turkey in September this year, we were first timers last September and had a wonderful time, so we booked as soon as we returned. I would like to try and learn some Turkish before I go this time round, can anyone recommend any good books, dvds or sites etc to try. Can't wait to leave this horrible cold weather to be back in the sunshine with an Efes again!!

the AA do a pocket size book available in WH SMITHS it is agood start for learning turkish i have found it really useful

if you look on ebay you can get a mp3 disc of turkish and its very good cheap as well. plays on dvd player or down load it on to ipod. if you dont have any joy pm me and i will try and send you one over

Hiya, I have been learning some Turkish through a website called byki (www.byki.com), they have a basic package which is free and I think it is really good for learning all the things like greetings, taking a taxi etc...

I had weekly Turkish lessons for 18 months and it is sooooo hard! The homework was so time consuming that I just gave up in the end! Havnt forgotten what I learnt tho so that is good.

my boyfriend and his family are trying to teach me but its a really hard language to learn purely because they speak so fast and dont even draw breath between words
its best when your actually there living with them it really helps you to pick it up quickly

Thanks for your all your help, it does seem a really hard language to learn, I think I will have a go at learning the basics and see how it goes. I have ordered a Collins dictionary/cd off the Amazon so will try and use that to start with. Thanks again.
