Great idea Garry - maybe those of us who aren't going in July could pledge to sponsor the walkers and drop the money into ICR when we are on hol??
also, which charity will it be for? is the orphanage still an option or perhaps there may be something that could be done along the lines of what we do at home where the money goes to help a "local child" - ie those less fortunate ?

As I said on the other topic you can count us in so long as it on or before the 11 July.

Carry on folks and I will again sit at the bottom of the hill with a beer and my camera and record it all for history

Great idea, however in July, it will be very hot so if possible needs to be done early morning

Pancho could show him the way

That sounds more like a plan Colette
We're there in August, but there's no way I fancy the climb at that time of year
So I'll dip it out and put my name down for sponsor money to be delivered to ICR while we are there ...........

One of the best ideas I have heard of lately!!!

To modify a little, how about we have a monthly walk up there. Once every month from May to October.

ICR will also sponsor certain people to do it as well. It will be a working out excursion with a team picture upstairs.

For all participants, ICR shirts and water will be provided free of charge.

Help me build on some more ideas on it...will be back:)

once again, greatest idea ever!!

On my many walks around Icmeler I have often gazed up at the flag and thought,"I would love to climb up to It"
but not knowing were the access point is for the begining of the climb I have let the idea slip.

If there was going to be an organised walk up to the flag I will definateley put my name down as doing this would fulfill one of my Icmeler dreams.

What is your opinion?

Use Sponsor Money for:

Saving the Animals?
Helping the Disabled?
Saving the Planet?

Since its icmeler, marmaris - the disabled people are fortunate to have good hospitals around and well income families as well as the advantage of living in a small town in terms of a community.

The planet...well I think Icmeler is green enough, the water is clean, it has alot of sources of water, planting a tree idea is still on however sponsorship money can do at better hands at this time...or paws ;)

Lets Save the Animals, Street Dogs and Cats!

This is where the money will be used. Money collected for Sponsored Walks will be used to help Street Cats and Dogs of Icmeler and for those animals at rehabilitation centres.
(Pancho will be present for each of the sponsored walks and guide all up to the top.)

well its an idea, esspecially after what I read the other day...the rehab centre in marmarishad 300 dogs and now have 150 and they dont say what happened to the other 150 also, I know personally that those dogs in the rehab need help looking after....we could even do a trip to there with members who would like to join us and hand in our donations in dog food etc -

All ideas are welcome and we can have other donation groups as well...your help should reach where you want it to reach...

Why don't we do a sponsored round up of all them mangy cats in Icmeler and feed them to the dogs at the pound.

2 problems sorted and we know Pancho loves "cat food"                                                           For Colette

I like the idea of a few different charities and donating to different things, as we all favour things differently :D

As for the dogs compound thats terrible, although I have a friend who visited last year and said it had changed.

No answer to John :x :x :x

Maybe there could be the ICR meet ups afterwards sometimes for a beer etc
