Navy Hotel ?

Looking at sorting next May. Passed this lots in September but didnt go in got a BB and Half Board option any good or iffy comments please - it obviously has good location . We stayrd at Blue Rainbow in Sept so would be gratefull for any feedback/comparisons. Many Thanks.

Hi Pete,

We do sell both of the hotels but in my opinion for the price difference there is no contest between the Navy and the Bonjour.

Bonjour has a great jacuzzi next to the pool but most important it offers an A La Carte breakfast meaning you get a choice of many things including a full English.

bonjour is the best by a mile great staff great location at a good price give it a try you will go back time after time.

I cannot comment on Bonjour but have stayed at the Navy twice last year both in may and September (we would have stayed this year too but didnt have a holiday!) We loved it there, its split into two blocks and stayed in both blocks now, the main block has the lift, the other block doesnt. The other block is the newer of the two, we had a family room there and it was quite large. The shower in the other block was quite small which my husband used to complain about. The staff were all very nice and friendly, and remembered us in the September from the May visit. I am not sure about your age we are in our 50s and in May we were the youngest there!, but we had a whale of a time with the other guests who came from Holland, Russia (tho they kept to themselves) and Britain. The breakfast were fine, continental with freshly cooked pancakes and eggs, you could pay for the English Breakfast is you wanted tho we went out to have them. We had a couple of evening meals which were nice, but had better ones out, too much of a choice of outside restaurants to stay in and eat. The bar was great, kept open for as long as you wanted, no real noise in the evening from it (our apartment overlooked it on the second trip and I heard to no noise)

The pool is quite small and we didnt use it, tho we did sit by it chatting to guests.

We used to drink in Romeo and Juliets so it was nice just to walk back from there.

We hope to go back there next year finances permitting.

Thanks for the replies, it was our first visit last September and Maureen & I are hooked ! We where shown round the Bonjour and it is SUPER. All being well we are going in May and Sept 2010 (10 nights each).
Sense would say Bonjour in May and do a tour for Sept just to experience different areas while we are there. The rugby league fixtures are out today so I ll be speaking to Sharon shortly now I can tie my dates properly.

The reason for the Navy query is its closeness to the beach. I developed a daily 8.00am pre breakfast ritual of swimming out to the rope and spending a few minutes gazing at the allround views . What a magic start to the morning ! That thought stays with me and keeps me warm during the rotten british winter

My May 2010 ambition is the seaside (?) walk from Icmeler to Marmaris and return by water taxi, along with my breakfast dip.- Anyone got any other great habits ?

Have you looked at Kontes Beach Hotel as it is right on the beach front?

It was recommended to me and I booked to go there this year but I booked with Freedom Direct who went bust and had to change my plans
I have had my lunch there a few times and its really nice, I get the impression the same people book to stay there year after year. The location is perfect for your morning swim

If you're still looking I just wanted to add something. I was at the Navy in October and had a few problems with the tour operator (Hol****4U) who were a complete nightmare. The staff were extremely helpful and couldn't do enough for me (as I was so upset by the company's behaviour and poor response to my complaint). On the last day I asked about a sandwich for the airport (I've been stung by the prices there before) and the chef handed me a half loaf and told me to put in whatever I wanted. I ended up with the world's biggest cold meat/cheese combo!! He wrapped it up in tinfoil for me and they didn't charge me for it. It's the little things that make such a difference ...
