ALINDA HOTEL

Postby SUSANMKENNEDY » 13 Nov 2009 16:07

Hi everyone.

We have booked to stay in the Alinda Hotel in Icmeler next year but I've just read some bad reivews. Can anyone give me a honest opinion then I can always alter my accommodation if necessary. I am going with my partner, a 19 year old, a 15 year old and a 2 year old. Thanks all.

Stayed opposite at the Blue Rainbow in September, the swimming pool is virtually on the roadside at the Alinda, spoke to a couple of people staying there and not that impressed, its not on my places to stay list for 2010, but each to their own. :?:

Is it the one next door to Havana Bar?

There are nicer places to stay with better pool and poolside facilities.
Would not be my choice for a holiday but of course this is just my opinion.

have to say it'd be my last choice of somewhere to stay in Icmeler - but having said that, it's really handy for the beach and only somewhere to rest your head/get showered & changed and after all, there are plenty of cheap places to eat and drink nearby
if you do change your hotel, hope you don't get stung with admin costs for the privilege

We were in the Havana (zaza's) in October with Mary, Phil, Colette and Wendy and we were having a fabby time. But the folk next door in Alinda looked really miserable sitting there with their plastic tumblers of cheap booze. Personally haven't been in the hotel but as the pool is small and right on the street, I certainly wouldn't like to stay there.

I wouldnt want to go there, purely because I am a pool person, I hate the beach. I couldnt relax laying there sun-bathing right next door to a busy bar. I dont think I have ever seen sun on the pool area either!

I have been inside it to the reception as we had a couple of friends working there last year, and the reception area was quite nice.

Personally I would change, unless you are a beach person, as like Fanny says, you will have admin charges to change accommodation.

Change your booking, honestly!
We lasted 3 days only and most of that time was spent trying to get another hotel (tricky cos it was the weekend).
I promise I'll post back here tomorrow when my holiday review is posted, It'll go into it in more detail.
I would reccommend the Mersoy Exclusive where we moved to, and its just as near the beach.
Going by other folks we spoke to, other hotels to avoid are the Blue Rainbow and the Portofino (the sister hotel of the Alinda).

That review is up now Susan.

8)

What I did forget to put in the review (and can't add now) is that all their food is cooked earlier on and they try to use the steam under the serving trays to reheat it, which I'm sure everyone will agree, is not a good idea with chicken!
