Any chemists or baby supply shops near the Marti La Perla?

Postby Miss Wetwipe » 09 Sep 2009 13:34

First of all i just wanted to say a huuuuuge hello to you guys!!!

I'm off to Icmeler (Marti La Perla) for the first time on Friday 11th and I can't believe I haven't found this forum before!!! What a fantastic and informative bunch you are - I've spent a good few hours digesting all the info on here and it's made very useful reading.

My question is that I am taking my 15 month old son with me and I've just realised how much stuff for him I've got to take with me (I'm sure I've gone way over my luggage allowance already :? )

Most of the weight is down to nappies, swim nappies and baby wipes - I was just wondering if there are any good chemists or shops close to the Perla where I will be able to pick up some basic supplies for him.

Thanking you all in advance xxx

Tanas supermarket will beable to satisfy all of these requirements.Come out of the Marti head in a direction away from the beach into the center up to the top road, it will take you about a 10 minute walk, for help just ask anyone the way to the TANSA

hello!!!

there are a few chemists around in the town but i have only found one which sells baby stuff, its opposite captain bullshits,on the main road up to the tansas, please somone correct me if my directions are wrong. you can also get baby stuff from the tansas, the only difficulty i found last year was that they hadnt got any larger size pampers they were all for babies, none for toddlers but used the turkish nappies which were ok and cheaper.
Couldnt find swimming nappies anywhere so i took plenty with me in and june and will do again this time.
Also if your little one is still on baby milk id personally take plenty with you as i ran out last year and my daughter didnt like the turkish alternative!!

Another thing you could do to keep the weight down in your case is to purchase nappies etc from boots at airport and carry them onto plane.

im going on friday aswell, cant wait to get there!!

Hope this helps and you have a lovely time in icmeler.....im sure you will as everyone always does!!

Having travelled with twins when they were babies I totally understand your predicament. However having tried to buy all the stuff I needed for the girls in the Tansas without much success (they only appeared to have limited quantities) I found that it was much easier jumping on the Dolmus to Marmaris and going to the Migros on the main road, who have a very wide range of all things required for babies and also at a better price to.

I am so glad that they are now two and out of nappies and all that is left behind along with the sterlising equipment.

Enjoy your holiday. We also go on the Friday for two week. Now counting down the hours.

From what I remember reading on here I think the only infant formula you can get is Milupa (or unknown Turkish brands). I'm biting the bullet and just taking a couple of packs of powder.

Quite a few places sell the swim nappies now as well, many of the smaller markets stock them, I was looking for them as my daughter is in the same boat, my granddaughter is 14 months old it was not difficult to find them. I also saw many jars of baby food but did not take note of the brand name sorry. I will ask my daughter to check as she is there at the minute (hopefully before th 11th) The Turkish baby wipes are lovely too and only about £2 per pack at the most. Any of the restaurants will make whatever food is required also, even purees. Have a lovely holiday everyone and welcome to the forum newbies :D :D :D
